Sure to be a favourite for wind quintets this music is ingeniously both beautiful and menacing as it depicts the beginnings of of unfounded suspicions of adultery at a sumptuous masked ball. An ideal partner to Shostakovich’s Waltz (from Eyes Wide Shut) perhaps?
