Edward MacDowell (1860 –1908) was an American composer and pianist of the Romantic period. To a Wild Rose is the first of his piano suite entitled Ten Woodland Sketches (1896). This gentle tune is beautiful in its simplicity and is easily MacDowell’s most popular work.
