Bartok’s ‘Romanian Dances’ – an exciting new bassoon quartet arrangement by Gillian Horn
I am delighted to publish a wonderful bassoon quartet arrangement by bassoonist Gillian Horn of Bartok’s Romanian Dances.
There are six diverse and colourful dances in the set: Jo cu bâta (Stick Dance), Brâul (Sash Dance), Pe Loc (Standing Still), Buciumeana (Dance from Bucsum), Poarga Româneasca (Romanian Polka), and Maruntel (Fast Dance). Gillian’s arrangement brings out each dance’s unique character wonderfully well – a lovely collection for bassoon quartet.

Wow, this really has been a labour of love. The Planets is one of my favourite pieces of all time. My biggest arrangement yet: 50 minutes of pure planetary heaven! An arrangement for wind quintet and piano of truly epic proportions!
